Terms and Conditions

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the services offered by Walk in Nature. By making a reservation, you agree to the terms outlined below. We encourage you to carefully review this document before using our services.

1. Reservations

Reservations can be made through the online booking system available on the Walk in Nature website or by contacting our guides via WhatsApp, SMS, or iMessage.

Activities require a 48-hour advance reservation. Advance payment is necessary to confirm the booking, ensure availability, and guarantee the full delivery of the requested services, barring force majeure events. Reservations confirmed with advance payment are prioritized.

For large groups or tours that include third-party services (e.g., restaurants, tickets), a deposit may be required.

2. Insurance

Our activities are covered by Professional Civil Liability Insurance (RCT), which protects participants in case of incidents directly attributable to our staff.

The following are excluded from coverage:

a) Damages caused by participants due to non-compliance with rules or failure to follow the guides’ instructions.

b) Services provided by third parties, even if booked through the website (e.g., restaurants, funicular rides, quad tours).

c) Injuries or damages caused by normal circumstances of the excursion (e.g., falls on rough terrain).

3. Payments

Payments must be made in advance via Stripe or PayPal, secure systems offered through our online booking platform. Reservations are confirmed only after full payment has been received.

4. Transportation

Transportation is included in the rates, where specified, and applies to transfers from meeting points.

If a transfer not organized by Walk in Nature is requested, an extra fee will be applied.

Important Note: We are not responsible for any items left behind or lost during transportation.

5. Participant Conduct

Participants must adhere to the rules outlined in this document and follow the guides’ instructions. Leaving the group without authorization is strictly prohibited.

The website provides details on technical difficulties and required equipment for each tour. Participants are responsible for informing their group members and communicating any special needs or medical conditions before the start of the tour.

6. Informed Consent

Activities take place in natural environments where risks cannot be completely eliminated.

Examples of risks include:

  • Uneven terrain.
  • Contact with wildlife or toxic plants.
  • Volcanic eruptions or falling pyroclastic materials.

The mountain is not without risks. These can only be mitigated through the experience and caution of the guides. Participants acknowledge that Walk in Nature is not responsible for incidents related to unforeseeable environmental risks.

7. Changes by the Organization or Participants

Guides may modify, reschedule, or cancel tours due to weather conditions, volcanic activity, or other reasonable causes.

Refunds: Refunds are provided only if the tour has not yet started or if less than one-third of the itinerary has been completed.

Participant requests for changes to the program may incur additional costs, which will be borne by the requester.

8. Variations and Refunds

Variations

If participants are unable to attend, they may request a transferable voucher valid for 1 year. Notification must be provided at least 48 hours before the tour (72 hours in August or during holidays). Below this threshold, the full fee will be retained as it is considered a no-show.

Refunds

Refunds are granted only for force majeure events (e.g., weather alerts, organizational issues). No-show participants or delays exceeding 15 minutes are not eligible for refunds.

9. Data Processing and Photographic Material

Participants authorize the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 13 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 and Article 13 of GDPR 679/2016 for purposes related to recreational activities.

Images taken during activities may be published on Walk in Nature’s social media channels. Those who do not wish to appear must inform the organization prior to the activity.

10. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

Walk in Nature reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated revision date.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Italian law. For any disputes, the competent court is Catania.
