The Mount Etna Summit Tour is a unique experience designed for those who want to witness the power and beauty of Europe’s tallest volcano up close. This tour takes place on the northern side of Etna, allowing participants to explore extraordinary landscapes and hidden spots, all accompanied by expert guides who will share the history and secrets of this natural giant.
The adventure begins aboard comfortable 4×4 coaches, shared with other participants, which will take us along adventurous roads up to an altitude of 2,800 meters (9,100ft), where the volcanological observatory is located. During the journey, you can observe traces of ancient lava flows and marvel at the variety of volcanic landscapes that make Etna so fascinating.
Once we reach the observatory, the second part of the tour begins with a panoramic walk. Here, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking scenery: the summit craters of Etna, impressive and mesmerizing with their dark hues, and vast stretches of black lava creating a unique contrast with the blue sky. On clear days, the view is further enriched by spectacular sights reaching as far as Taormina and the coast of Calabria, offering a truly unique perspective of this region.
After the walk, we’ll return to the meeting point, where you can complete the experience with a tasting of local delicacies, such as cheeses, cured meats, and honey, for a taste of the true flavors of Etna. As an optional extra, for those seeking a more complete culinary experience, a traditional Etna-style lunch can be arranged—an excellent opportunity to savor the local cuisine made with genuine, regional ingredients.
With the Mount Etna Summit Tour, you’ll experience an unforgettable adventure, exploring the summit of one of the world’s most captivating volcanoes and savoring the authentic flavors of the Etna region.
Please note that this tour is WEATHER-DEPENDENT and will only be conducted in favorable weather conditions or if there is NO ONGOING VOLCANIC ACTIVITY, to ensure safety and the best experience.
