Embark on a unique adventure with our full-day tour of Pantalica, perfect for experienced hikers seeking a blend of history and nature. Our guides will choose the best route for the group, ensuring an unforgettable experience among ancient ruins and breathtaking landscapes.
The tour includes a visit to the Anaktoron, also known as the “Prince’s Palace”. Here, you’ll discover the remains of a majestic prehistoric structure, with its foundations telling stories of ancient civilizations. Moving on, you’ll find yourself surrounded by the intriguing rock-cut tombs, which form one of the largest necropolises in the Mediterranean, dating back to the Bronze Age and set amid stunning natural scenery.
The tour follows sections of the old railway, once used by trains and now an integral part of Pantalica’s natural landscape. Walking along these abandoned tracks, you’ll witness how nature has reclaimed the area, transforming the railway into a fascinating and historic pathway.
The crystal-clear waters of the Calcinara and Anapo rivers offer another highlight of the journey. Flowing through canyons and gorges, these rivers bring a refreshing touch to the hike, providing ideal resting points to admire the area’s biodiversity and pristine beauty.
Among the most scenic spots is the Sella di Filiporto, which offers spectacular views over the valley, perfect for photography enthusiasts wanting to capture the wild essence of Pantalica.
Lastly, we’ll explore the mysterious Bat Cave, a natural habitat for various bat species. This stop adds an intriguing aspect to the tour, completing an adventure that spans from ancient history to the most authentic nature.
